To celebrate the release of Issue #17: Transition, MY Magazine invited their community into a world suspended gently between stillness and change. The launch dinner unfolded as an immersive experience; a space where light softened, materials breathed, and time seemed to slow into a single, held moment.
At the centre of the long table stood our black Botané orchids, their deep, sculptural silhouettes rising through candlelight and reflections of melting ice. More than decoration, they became quiet protagonists in the evening’s narrative; embodiments of the theme itself.
Shaping a Moment Between What Has Been and What Is Becoming
“The creative vision for the dinner grew directly out of the theme Transition,” shares MY Magazine’s founder, Lizette. “We wanted the room to feel like a gentle shift; a moment suspended between what has been and what is becoming.”
Guests were met by a palette of tactile materials: raw stone, glass, ice, paper and flame. Every element was tuned to a slower frequency, designed to make people feel grounded, welcomed and subtly transformed.
“It wasn’t about impressing,” Lizette adds. “It was about creating a space where people could truly arrive.”
Everlasting Florals as Sculptural Storytelling
For this particular issue, the use of everlasting flowers was intentional, and symbolic.
“Everlasting florals carry an inherent duality: they are both still and alive, both crafted and organic,” Lizette explains. “That tension is creatively powerful. They allow us to shape a mood rather than decorate a table.”
The orchids’ permanence made it possible to work with form in a controlled, sculptural way aligning with MY Mag’s refined visual identity. Their dark, velvety tones created depth in the otherwise monochromatic setting, anchoring the long table like quiet shadows.
At the centre, an ice block installation held a single orchid, frozen in perfect clarity and slowly softening as the evening progressed.
“A metaphor for Transition,” she says. “Expressed through time, temperature and patience.”
Conscious Creation and the Beauty of Longevity
At MY Magazine, intentionality is the foundation; a philosophy that echoes deeply in their choice of materials.
“For us, conscious creation is about intention rather than perfection,” Lizette reflects. “We design moments and visuals that resonate beyond a single event. Long-lasting flowers support that naturally; they allow beauty to remain, evolve and be revisited.”
Everlasting florals don’t just stay, they hold space for stories to unfold slowly. Their presence becomes part of a longer narrative, rather than a fleeting gesture.
Looking Ahead: A Shared Language of Atmosphere and Form
The collaboration with Botané marks the beginning of a larger creative dialogue.
“We see everlasting florals becoming even more integrated into our visual and experiential language,” Lizette says. “Their sculptural qualities align with the way we build atmosphere and narrative.”
Future installations, editorial moments and spatial interventions are already imagined; pieces that, like Transition, live in the space between stillness and change.
The launch dinner was not just a celebration of a new issue, but a shared exploration of what happens when materials, design and storytelling meet in a single, quiet movement. And in that movement, everlasting flowers, sculptural, emotional and enduring, will continue to play a central role.
